sknano.structures.compute_chiral_angle(n, m, rad2deg=True)[source][source]

Compute chiral angle \(\theta_c\).

\[\theta_c = \tan^{-1}\left(\frac{\sqrt{3} m}{2n + m}\right)\]
Parameters:

n, m : int

Chiral indices defining the nanotube chiral vector \(\mathbf{C}_h = n\mathbf{a}_1 + m\mathbf{a}_2 = (n, m)\).

rad2deg : bool, optional

If True, return angle in degrees.

Returns:

float

Chiral angle \(\theta_{c}\) in degrees (default) or radians (if rad2deg=False).
